OVERALL PERSONALITYPublically, Romulus is a polite, studious young man, often thought to eventually move on to bigger, better things and lead a successful, happy life. Romulus is known to be a generous and kind person, going out of his way to help less successful students with homework and comforting homesick first years. Overall a popular, well-liked student, Romulus appears not to let this go to his head and cosplays a humble individual. Despite his popularity, he prefers to be alone and is often found reading a thick volume in the solitude of the library, or taking long walks around the Hogwarts grounds. In disputes between peers, he remains neutral and only tries to defuse the situation.
Romulus identifies well with The Dark Lord and his public image greatly reflects Voldemort’s Hogwarts years. In private, he is one of the biggest rules breakers to attend Hogwarts and fancies a nightly walk through the Forbidden Forest to a shack he prepared in his fourth year. A hatred for Mudbloods and blood traitors was heavily fueled by literature detailing the life of The Dark Lord and his desire for power rivals that of his idol. Regarding his popularity, he uses this to his advantage to manipulate others. Overall well spoke and charismatic, Romulus is able to convince people to do his bidding without the Imperius Curse. HISTORY Said to be born to promiscuous Diane Creevy and stern Caesar Parry, Romulus learned to doubt that Caesar was his father at an early age. Romulus was only the center of his parents’ world for a short while before he was cast aside to make room for a new child. Left to be raised by four older brothers, Romulus came to appreciate every second of peace and quiet available. A significant magical memory that he’s always held dearly was when Ionnes’ trousers caught fire after giving Romulus a pounding. Around the age of 11, he decided that he was not going to be anything like his brothers and taught himself manners. Shortly after, he received his letters to Hogwarts and left his Muggle family behind.
Romulus mostly kept to his self after arriving at Hogwarts, as he focused on his studies and the prolonged sense of security he felt from being away from his brothers. Finding a homesick crying girl in a corridor, he comforted her and she became his first real friend. Although he integrated into her clique of friends, he still preferred to remain alone. Sabrina, the Ravenclaw girl, took note of this and began to two rituals that Romulus would continue to this very day: a regular walk around the Hogwarts grounds and a nightly stroll through the Forbidden Forest. Sabrina began to bring Romulus out of his shell and he became more social, forming other friendships and beginning his popularity.
On Sabrina’s thirteenth birthday, Romulus presented her with a salamander. She loved it, and in the heat of the moment rewarded him with a kiss. After an awkward period, Romulus and Sabrina began to date and he felt true happiness for the first time since Ionne’s trousers caught fire. Sixth months into their relationship, they were strolling through the Forbidden Forest when two Professors began to pursue them. They were separated, Romulus was caught, and the Professors never found Sabrina. Romulus withdrew from society, becoming less social but remaining just as popular, if not more popular because he became the center of attention.
In his fourth year, Romulus came across a book in the Restricted Section of the library, a biography of the life and deeds of Lord Voldemort. Intrigued, he continued to study and eventually began to adopt similar traits. Instead of a desire to avoid death, Romulus desired to conquer the Wizarding World so he could find Sabrina. He blamed the two Professors for her disappearance, one of which was deemed a blood traitor during The Dark Lord’s reign and the other being a Muggleborn. Struggling with his own apparent Muggle-ism, he began to research genetics extensively and discovered exactly what he was looking for.
Caesar and Diane both had brown eyes and it extended to five of their six children, Romulus being the exception because he blue eyes. Brown eyes, being a dominant trait, would have claimed him as well, but it didn’t. He finally had the proof he needed and confronted Caesar with this information. Diane unwillingly admitted that she had an affair and gave Romulus the name of his real father. Although he never confronted his true father, he learned that he had a brother at Hogwarts and decided not to contact him either.
In his fifth year, he took a younger student with identical ideology under his wing and trained the youth in the Forbidden Forest. Together, the two built a shack near the location Romulus last saw Sabrina and enchanted a gargoyle to guard the site. Newt, the trainee, brought more people to Romulus’ attention and Romulus told him to have the apprentices meet near the shack. That night, Romulus forced a fierce duel between the individuals until two (aside from Newt and Romulus) were left standing. Romulus branded all four of them with a salamander on their wrists that would slither down their wrists and too their palm, briefly breathing flames whenever the group were needed.
Filled with hatred and contempt for his family and having to return from Hogwarts, Romulus argued with Cyrus one night. Becoming angry, Romulus struck Cyrus and the two brawled. Romulus, angry and bleeding from a broken nose, left and began to plot his revenge. Knowing a wizard that lived alone nearby, Romulus overpowered the individual and stole his wand. Placing him under the Imperius Curse, Romulus made him follow him back to his house. Romulus cast his second Unforgivable Curse, murdering his entire family with the other wizard’s wand and forcing the wizard to set the house ablaze while remaining inside. Romulus was ruled out as a suspect and he returned to Hogwarts for his sixth year.
